Earthships screening

Ecoburbia is returning to Replants on Wray Avenue for a third screening in their winter series, this time showing the film Earthships tonight.

Last week they also showed the movie Bag It! and it was apparently very well attended (unfortunately I couldn’t make it, but I love this film).

The first screening a bit over a month back, of Wasteland had heaps of people (and a couple of dogs) enjoying food around a fire before watching a really inspiring film. A friend of mine, John, said it was the greatest story of human dignity he had seen. There’s photos from this event in the slideshow at the bottom of the blog.

Details of tonight’s event are as follows:

ON FRIDAY NIGHT JUNE 22nd come and join us for a special screening of “Earthships New Solutions” This is the first time this movie has been screened in WA. If you have seen and were inpsired by Garbage Warriors come and see this new doco outlining what the Earthships Team have been up to.

‘An inspiring and personal story about a group of people building sustainable housing in the Baja California peninsula in Mexico, it also serves as an introductory guide to building alternative sustainable housing, as well as describing with the use of animation, how these buildings offer solutions to today’s most important issues like: energy, water, food, shelter, sewage and recycling.

See a trailer for the movie here
6.30 for meal $10, 7.15 for the movie ($5)

The venue is Replants 96 Wray Avenue, Fremantle. Please bring chairs cushions, doonas etc

This is a great family-friendly event to have on Wray and I hope to get to see a few locals there just like last time.

    • Cool. I will catch up with him.

Sorry I didn’t stick around for the film. Emma was sick and I was picking up some hot soup and hanging by the fire while it was made. I intended on coming back but… well… the cold.

I have an idea for a workshop making cockie boxes for along Wray and that Replants could be a good place to host it so I want to catch up with him about that.
